Greeting from the President of the Federation of German Philatelists, Alfred Schmidt

Dear philatelists,

After more than 20 years, a World Stamp Exhibition will again be held in Germany. We invite you to come to Essen from 25 to 28 May 2023 and celebrate our hobby together with many other collector friends. The Bund Deutscher Philatelisten e.V. has taken over the organisation together with the service provider Philatelie Promotion UG.

The preparations for IBRA 2023 have been underway for quite some time. First, we obtained the patronage of the world federation FIP in Bangkok in 2018 and the recognition of the European federation FEPA in Prague for the exhibition originally planned for 2021. But then the Corona pandemic literally threw a spanner in the works. However, we did not let ourselves be discouraged, but set our sights on a successful event in Essen. A dedicated team has been fine-tuning the details, planning the details and putting together the programme.

IBRA 2023 will be a special festival where German philately can present itself. But there will also be world rarities to see, and numerous dealers and auction houses as well as postal administrations will be represented. We are sure that all collectors will experience special days that will bring us together with friends from all over the world. We will be talking about this for a long time to come. The Bund Deutscher Philatelisten e.V. and the entire organising committee look forward to welcoming you in Essen.
