13th German-American Salon.
In 1949, the Germany Philatelic Society was founded in the USA - a stamp collecting society dealing with the philately of Germany and the areas belonging to it (occupation issues, foreign post offices, colonies, etc.). The stamp collectors' society, which has many internationally successful exhibitors in its ranks, currently has about 1,250 members worldwide.
For more than 30 years, collectors of the Germany Philatelic Society and members of the Bundes Deutscher Philatelisten e.V. have met regularly, alternating between Germany and the USA, most recently in St. Louis in 2019.
In accordance with a cooperation agreement between the BDPh and the GPS, a German-American Salon is held as part of these face-to-face meetings and, as the name suggests, populated with exhibits from the USA and Germany.
In 2023, the American collector friends will come to Germany for IBRA in Essen and at the same time, interesting 1- or 2-frame exhibits will be presented by invitation in the then 13th German-American Salon according to the motto "small but nice".
